Late to the party is always fun! I think that a fandom is only as good as how well you can and easily you can separate yourself from who you perceive to be the crazies. FFVII has grown ridiculously easy over time, and I've also seen that all of the obsessive otakukin have pretty much moved on to bigger and better things.
